COURSE OVERVIEW:
The FAA Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is a nationally recognised qualification designed for employees across all sectors and industries. It develops awareness of health and safety within an organisation and provides learners with essential knowledge of UK health and safety legislation. Suitable for anyone aged 16 or over, this course is also an ideal stepping stone to higher-level health and safety training and career development. The qualification is assessed by a 20-question multiple choice paper and is independently accredited by First Aid Awards (FAA).

UNIT 1 Roles, Responsibilities & Risk Assessment Objective: Ensure learners understand their legal duties and how risk assessments contribute to health and safety in the workplace.
Health, Safety & Welfare Responsibilities Employers’ and employees’ duties under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 Consequences of non-compliance — legal, financial and personal Training and competency requirements in the workplace How health and safety information is communicated in organisations
Understanding Hazard and Risk Defining hazard and risk — the key difference The five steps of risk assessment How risk assessments reduce accidents and ill health at work
Assessment Information Written assessment — 20 multiple choice questions Minimum pass mark: 15 out of 20 Assessment duration: 40 minutes
UNIT 2 Hazard Identification, Control & Incident Response Objective: Equip learners with the practical knowledge to identify workplace hazards, apply controls and respond correctly to accidents and incidents.
